Text messages

Pegboard can text you about your own tool loans. It’s optional, off unless you turn it on, and you can stop at any time.

What we send

• A neighbor has asked to borrow your tool.
• A request you made has been answered.
• A tool is due back tomorrow, or is overdue.

Nothing else: no marketing, no newsletters, and nothing between 9pm and 8am. Message frequency varies with your own lending and borrowing; most members get a few messages a month. Message and data rates may apply.

How you turn it on

Members join by invitation and verify their US mobile number with a one-time code. On the profile page, at ourpegboard.com/profile, you choose “Text message” and tick this box, which is not ticked for you:

Saving records the date you agreed. Only members who tick that box are texted. The profile page is behind a sign-in because Pegboard is invite-only, which is why the wording is repeated here.

How you stop

• Reply STOP to any message. We stop texting you straight away.
• Reply HELP for help, or use ourpegboard.com/feedback.
• Or switch texts off on your profile page, any time.
